I would also say rewrite/refactor the whole fleet code. The legacy code breaks down with stuck fleet simply due to the complex way it's coded with a really unstable cron method. Scrap using fleet tokens. Modernise the fleet database. Essentially just delete the old fleet database and create it new. Then code it in PHP 8.x, js. You'll waste days trying to unravel stuck fleets and patching it up won't work. The short cut is to build it back up from scratch.

Apologies. I didn't mean to sound negative. I'm trying to convey the message that you've got to take the legacy code, unravel the complexity which is causing multiple points of failures in code maintenance and rebuild using pure PHP 8.x. I would suggest to keep the current architecture. Go modular on the CSS, JS. If you really want to keep it simple, don't even bother with CSS just use Bootstrap5, Font awesome. That will even handle responsiveness. When using Smarty just hit delete. It will take…

I have a few suggestions that I think anyone taking on the legacy 2Moons code should give thought. The 2Moons code based is truly over engineered and it's causing failures to maintain that code base. 1. Migrate out of Smarty and go pure PHP. Don't even bother making the mistake of upgrading to the latest version of Smarty. You will be wasting your time. Stick to version in the legacy code or better still bin Smarty altogether. 2. Get out of Ajax. It just adds unnecessary complexity. 3. Just migra…

This version is currently under development by a highly trained (and slightly overworked) team of tiny space mice, who are now looking for brave beta players to test the gameplay. It’s a long-term project. The mice have made a lot of changes and are slowly coming to terms with just how much work they signed up for. Progress continues… one squeak at a time. If you fancy poking around, breaking things, and providing feedback, the space mice would be eternally grateful (or at least until feeding ti…

PostI have 3 old servers gathering dust in a corner of a room and decided to install this version on one of them for fun. I even have it running on EOL Centos. It's located here xnuva.com - providing the server doesn't blink on and off. I really like the way it feels so light weight and core to the game strategy rather than filled with endless bells and whistles. Just wanted to compliment Danter14. Great work.

Anyone know where I can get a skin similar to ogame where you don't have to scrol up and down like a nutcase eveytime? Thanks... By the way, has to free... let's face facts you're not going to be a billionaire selling skins for this game......

It is a purist legacy server as set up and designed by Jan Kröpke. The problem with the www today is that it is unnecessarily complicated with too many vested interests trying to complicate it further. Too much code changes trying to reinvent the wheel. trying to fix things that aren't broken. So, if it's good enough for a 10 year old to set up all well and good! The counter culture is alive and well. The banner you refer to is a banner exchange. Something which a multinational like Google resen…
